Education Project Officer required

BRITISH LYMPHOLOGY SOCIETY Education Project Officer   An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with the BLS on a self employed basis for a sixth month period. The successful candidate will be leading on a project to re-write and update all the BLS information literature paying particular attention to the education material. It is anticipated that the project lead will facilitate the re-writing of these documents in accordance with current evidenced-based practice so it is expected that the lead will facilitate the setting up of working parties from amongst the expert practitioners working in lymphoedema. Details

  • £22.00 per hour

  • fixed term initially for six months

  • 7.5 hours per week or over an agreed period for instance four days per month

  • self employed basis

Knowledge and experienceBLS is looking for a candidate with

  • a proven track record in the management of lymphoedema

  • formal qualification in education and experience in teaching at a higher level

  • understanding of the KSF framework and the current educational strategies in health care

  • understanding of the BLS constitution and its aims and objectives

  • an ability to organise own work

  • experience in writing formal documents

  • experience in collating information and producing consensus data

  • an ability to work flexible hours according to the needs of the project

JOB TITLE: Education project lead   GRADE:  see DC - £192 per day  

LOCATION:  Home based with ability to travel UK wide in conjunction with the project.

 2. JOB PURPOSE
  1. To develop, lead and manage all aspects of the project as set out in Key responsibilities
  2. To work as part of the BLS committee
  3. To act as a link to co-ordinate any sub-groups set up to achieve the projects objectives

  

 

 3. DIMENSIONS
1)     Facilitate the rewriting of BLS information literature paying particular reference to educational material.
2)     To facilitate the updating of the BLS Education pack
3)     Co-ordinate working groups set up to achieve the above.
4)     To promote all aspects of the BLS as a society when representing the organisation.

5 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To facilitate the updating of all BLS information literature.
  • To facilitate the updating and redesign of the BLS education pack.
  • To act as co-ordinator of appropriate working parties
  • To report to the Chair and subsequently the committee progress and decisions in relation to the    project.
  • To work with the Communications Officer and administration team to achieve the project objectives.

 

 6 COMMUNICATIONS AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
  • To work with all BLS trustees, officers, administration staff and members.

  • To work with all link organisations including LSN, ILF etc everyone add to this please
  • To promote the work of BLS and act in such a manner as to ensure that BLS constitution is adhered to.

 

7 KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE
  • Professional, clinical background in the management of Lymphoedema to specialist level

  • Formal qualification in education and experience in teaching to higher level.

  • Understanding of the KSF framework and the current educational strategies in health education
  • Understanding of the BLS constitution and its aims and objectives (do we want to say experience of BLS committee?

  • An ability to organise own workload.
